why do they do the things they do?!

Why is it that whenever i get onto joeuser i feel differant. People on hear make me feel stupid. I feel like i don't belong and that i am too young. Sometimes i just want to give up joeuser all together and go back to my life before this. I wonder a lot of things like when people say they want to go to hell because heaven can't be that great cause god made this. Well i talked to my mom about this cause i wanted her input on this. She made a good point she said "well god didn't make this. God made man and man got to do what he wanted with this. Also god knew that it wouldn't be perfect and there would be fighting and etc. But he did it for the good, for us to have a chance." Then i don't know what to do when they say this about heaven when i get back on. I feel like i dunno what to say in response. I needed to say how i felt. I dunno what i want to do right now though. I have talked to one of my friends about this Alex. I thanked him cause he did help me. I was wonderin if anyone else has ever felt this way and what they have done to get through it. Cause at times i can't take it anymore and i just want to scream so loud. I know that won't help so i am seeing if this will. I don't know why i can't stand it either. I can stand a lot of things but for some reason this really does bother me .

Just relax and go with the flow, girl! Everything's gonna be O.K. Just live one day at a time and keep your eyes open to the world.

Read, watch, and learn.  Seriously.  I've learned things from being here, and I'm 35 and college educated!

I know how you feel - I used to feel extremely dull and unintelligent when I first started blogging here.  Still do, sometimes.

blonde,

It's my opinion that the majority of people who go out of their way to make you feel like you don't know anything...don't know that much themselves.

I enjoy your blogs, and your perspectives, and would like to envourage you to blog on!

Some people enjoy making other people feel small and will take advantage of every opportunity to do so. Other people enjoy debate and discussion and want nothing more than learn and grow and help others to do the same. You should feel bright and confident, knowing that you belong to the latter group. It is good to question your beliefs. If they are solid, you will come out of it believing in them more strongly. If they don't stand up to the test, then you should adjust them. As Christians, we commanded to always question and search the scriptures. What you are doing here at JU is beneficial for you and for us!

You don't have to respond. I tend to let people believe what they believe. I find that the best you can do is just present it as, "That's very interesting. This is my take on it...." Usually if you're respectful about it they will be too. (Not always, but some people just live to be cranky.)

I occasionally read atheist sites and books to see what their latest positions are. Sometimes it bothers me, not because it affects my beliefs any but because I would also be highly disturbed to see someone pouring water into their gas tank during a disaster evacuation.

I sometimes see Christians expressing the opinion that "If I saw someone standing in the middle of a street and a truck was barreling toward them I would do everything I could to save them" to justify their militant proselytizing. I sympathize with the emotions behind the sentiment, but it ignores what Jesus said about letting the blind follow the blind if they wanted to. Jesus was all about people coming willingly. Ultimately it is the work of God and the Holy Spirit, not us, that saves. Christians are witnesses, not superheros.

So, give witness if you absolutely feel moved to, but don't worry about the outcome. It doesn't matter how much you try to persuade some people that water in the gas tank is going to prevent their escape, they will vehemently insist. Not everyone has "ears to hear."

Just don't listen to what people say. When I first started on here, people really didn't come around and warm up to me all that quickly. In fact I really don't think a whole lot of people liked me. Well besides Capt., madpoet, and dharma. People did make me feel stupid, but it didn't stop me now did it? I've been on here for four months now. People still make me feel stupid at times, but I just try not to let it get to me. In fact, sometimes the people that made me feel stupid are in fact not that bright themselves. So keep your chin up! And keep on blogging!

That is a good way to think about it thanks.

Everyday should be a learning experience. Stupid is a state of mind. Trust me, many people here will tell you I am. Just keep searching for answers. You're not out for their approval. You never should be. Just be as good as you can. And then get better.

Yeah no problem. And I think I know very well of who you're talking about. And you know what the truth is, I actually don't care what he thinks of me. If he thinks i'm ugly or something, then so be it. Nothing I can do to change it. I mean if he said something mean to me or something, then I might get up set. But everyone is that way. And I don't really think he'd actually tell me I'm ugly if that's what he ever thought.

Man, that's some harsh stuff right there. To give you my perspective as an atheist, listening to Christian positions disturbs me like it would disturb me to see someone I worked with spend a week training diligently for a new position they think they'll be promoted to, only to find that they are fired instead.

Your metaphor was better though >8(.

As for you blondelife, I can't really say anything that hasn't been said before. We all have bad days, we all worry, for you that may mean a crisis of faith, for me paranoia over where my life will end up. It's best to just believe in yourself above all else, believe that you can persevere, and you should find that not only will you be able to overcome such obstacles, but also that those who seek to belittle and attack you just to be rude will no longer hurt you as much. You'll realize that they just take a sick pleasure from making you feel bad, and their jibes are intended just for that, therefore making their actual message meaningless.

If anyone goes out of their way to insult you and make you feel awful, chances are their argument is not really very good at all, because they're engineered more to be rude than insightful.
