why do they do the things they do?!

I went to this camp with some of my friends. Well one of my friends named Bobbi went with us. Well we had to get up real early the next day so bobbi fell asleep at about 12:00. Sarah (one of my other friends) and I were sitting there talking. I remembered bobbi saying if this one guy calls to wake her up so she can talk to him. So he called at about 1:30 and i talked to him for awhile. Then i said i would wake bobbi up to hold on. So i go to wake her up and I said "Bobbi wake up ________ is on the phone and he wants to talk to you" then bobbi said " I don't want to talk to him. Remember he said he didn't want to talk to me!" so i told this guy to call back tomorrow at 3:00 at bobbi's home phone number and he said ok then i hear bobbi yell. "Well i won't answer the phone." it was the funniest thing. She did this the whole night. lol. It was so funny.

I don't know what causes it. I want to know what causes you to talk in your sleep. Or sleep walking. They say not to wake them up but then again who knows. If anyone knows really anything about this kind of thing. Please help me out. This is one question that i have had for awhile.

I used to sleepwalk too!
Some people just get in the zone while dreaming where they are just a little less asleep during REM sleep, so they can still talk.
That's just my theory though, not a scientific answer,
When I would sleepwalk it was strange, I would have memories of walking around the house, going to the bathroom, in a hazy dream
like state, open the fridge to get the light to try to wake myself, no dice. I would talk until someone physically stopped me.
All in all, it was kinda nightmarish when I experienced it. I can still remember doing it in my teens and 20's.

Actually, the brain is supposed to turn mind to body connection off when it dreams, so your actions in in dream don't convert into actual actions, but sometimes it fails to work.

Inverse could happen too, but that is very rare. Basically, you woke up, but brain didn't turn mind to body connection back on, so you couldn't move for a moment or two.
